1979 Giampietro Tedeschi founds Commissioning Srl, quickly affirming in the supply of start-up, operation and maintenance of industrial plants.

1987 Sofinter SpA is founded, as Holding of a successful group of companies providing industrial services, including also some foreign companies.

1997 Sofinter completes acquisition of an eqity stake in Macchi SpA, specialized in design and construction of industrial boilers for “Oil&Gas” sector.

1997 Sofinter costitutes the company SWS “Saline Water Specialist Srl”, dedicated to the business of desalination and water treatment for industrial plants.

2001 Sofinter completes acquisition of an equity stake in Termosud SpA, with its factory in Gioia del Colle (BA), calling it “Ansaldo Caldaie SpA”, specialized in design and construction of utility boilers and heat recovery boilers for combined cycles.

2001 CCA Srl, Centro Combustione Ambiente, joines the Group.

2001 Ansaldo Caldaie achieves an important launch on international markets, reaching the target of a balanced budget.

2002 Sofinter completes the acquisition of 100% di Macchi.

2002 Sofinter completes the acquisition of ITEA SpA.

2003 Sofinter completes the acquisition of 100% di Ansaldo Caldaie.

2004 Macchi and SWS become divisions of Sofinter.

2004 Sofinter founds SC Macchi Romania Srl, a company under Rumenian law. Located on Danube River, in Romania, it is 100% controlled and dedicated to construction of pressure parts for boilers.

2004 Ansaldo Caldaie is awarded with the contract for the supply of three 660MW ultra supercritical (USC) coal fired boilers to be erected at Torrevaldaliga Nord PP – nearby Civitavecchia – owned by ENEL.

2005 Ansaldo Caldaie is awarded with the contract for the supply of three drum boilers, each one exceeding 2000t/h of steam generation, for the Shuaibah 3 Independent Water and Power Project (IWPP) in KSA. The plant is meant to produce fresh water and electric power and these boilers are among the largest in the world equipped for crude oil firing.

2005 In Chennai AnsaldoCaldaie Boiler India Private Limited is created, 85% subsidiary of Ansaldo Caldaie, active in design, manufacture, supply and after-sales service of power plants in India.

2006 Award of the contract for the 100th HRSG ( Rizziconi 400MW CCPP, located in southern Italy), that follows a series of contracts for HRSGs downstream 250MW GT: Rosignano (1 Unit), Sparanise (2 Units), Santa Barbara (1 Unit), Vado Ligure (2 Units), Escatron ( 2 Units).

2007 Macchi, in a moment of great development in Oil&Gas market, is able to provide from Marghera assembling yard 45 medium/large powered boilers, netting a production of over 150 million Euros.

2008 The International partner GAMMON India enteres Sofinter shareholding.

2008 Macchi is awarded by the Norwegian company Statoil with the contract for the supply of a large module for steam production, designed for an important offshore platform in the North Sea. The weight of the assembled module is 1.000 tons approximately.

2008 Ansaldo Caldaie is awarded with the contract for the supply of two 650MW oil and gas fired drum boilers for Abu Qir PP (Egypt), thus strengthening its presence in this country after the acquisition, in 2007, of a contract for two 350MW oil and gas fired drum boilers for El Tebbin PP.

2009 Shuaibah Plant, in Saudi Arabia, and Enel Plant in Torrevaldaliga North (Civitavecchia) startes the operations.

2011 BT Global enteres Sofinter’s shareholding.

2012 Ansaldo Caldaie confirmes its leadership in the Egyptian market winning two more contracts: two HRSGs for Banha 750MW CCPP and one 650MW class oil and gas fired drum boiler for the new Suez PP.
