Industrial agreement for Gioia del Colle site

Sofinter confirms its great satisfaction for the achievement of the industrial solution for Gioia del Colle production site, developed together with Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT), local institutions and trade union representatives. 

AC Boilers, Sofinter S.p.A subsidiary,  and Ansaldo Energia signed a preliminary agreement for the property’s transfer and the redevelopment of Gioia del Colle plant, providing a significant step forward to the site’s reindustrialization process.

According to the official note issued by MIMIT, Gioia del Colle overhaul plan envisages an high-level development program, with an investment exceeding €50 million in the next three years. €30 million approx will be directly funded by Ansaldo Energia, while the remaining amount will be provided through national and local funds dedicated to reindustrialization processes. Activities will be dedicated to four industrial sectors, including  innovative and sustainable projects i.e. photovoltaic panel recycling and green hydrogen production in the area,  accelerating the energy transition and strengthening strategic industrial value chains.”

The property’s transfer will be finalized in the coming months, following the completion of the required due diligence and the fulfillment of the relevant procedures.

This result is part of AC Boilers restructuring process and represents the achievement of a key objective set by the Management of Sofinter and AC Boilers.
